Jeff Greenwald
Oakland-based Jeff Greenwald is the author of six books, including Shopping for Buddhas, The Size of the World (for which he created the first international blog), and most recently Snake Lake, set in Nepal during the 1990 Jana Andolan (Democracy revolution).
His stories and essays have appeared in Smithsonian, Afar, Wired, National Geographic Adventure, the BBC and Salon. His one-man show—Strange Travel Suggestions—opened to critical acclaim in 2003, and continues to draw full houses. Jeff also serves as Executive Director of Ethical Traveler, a global alliance of travelers dedicated to human rights and environmental protection (www.ethicaltraveler.org). Shopping for Buddhas has been re-released in an newly revised and enhanced edition for its 25th anniversary.
